- For the A3000 with the ECS chipset, you could do it. You have to buffer a
- whole screen into video RAM on the board, and it doesn't take too much memory
- to do 640 x 512 x 4 bits. If you want to do AGA's 1280 x 512 x 8 bits, or 640
- x 960 x 8 bits, that takes significantly more of the expensive video RAM.
- It's quite a bit cheaper to just put the Multiscan monitor driver in ROM.
- Though my estimates may be way off, would you rather buy the $1000 or $1500
- machine?
